By laying the foundation stone, the Peruvian Olympic Committee, the Government of Peru and the Mayor’s Office of the City of Lima have formalized the beginning of the High Level Training Center’s construction, which will be used for the preparation of their athletes towards the XVIII Pan American Games in 2019.
Preparations for the organization of the Pan American Sports Festival are ongoing. The Festival will be held in Mexico City and in various States of the Mexican Republic.
The President of PASO sent warm congratulations to Mr. Henry Núñez, President of the Olympic Committee of Costa Rica, due to the “Decoration for Merits towards Peace and Democracy” awarded to the NOC by the President of the Republic of Costa Rica. Mr. Mario Vázquez Raña extended congratulations and recognition on behalf of PASO to the athletes, coaches, directors and members of the Olympic Movement of Costa Rica.
President Mario Vázquez Raña has summoned the next PASO Executive Committee Meeting for March the 25th, in Mexico City.
Last December the 3rd, the Commission in charge of working on the proposals to amend the PASO Statute met at the PASO Headquarters, in Mexico City. The Commission, coordinated by Secretary General Jimena Saldaña and chaired by Mr. Michael Chambers, is integrated as well by the PASO Vice Presidents.
President Mario Vázquez Raña welcomed the Commission’s members and shared with them important reflections on the Organization’s future and on the need to improve the statutory provisions that rule it.
