Athletes from countries members of the Pan American Sports Organization (PASO) won a total of 210 medals in the recently concluded Rio 2016 Olympic Games, of which 76 were gold, 58 silver and 76 bronze. 

First place in the general medal standings belongs to the United States, which won 46 gold medals, 47 silver and 38 bronze, for a total of 121 medals. The USA is followed by Brazil (7-6-6=19); Jamaica (6-3-2=11); Cuba (5-2-4=11); Canada (4-3-15=22); Colombia (3-2-3=8) and Argentina (3-1-0=4).

Athletes from PASO member countries like speed racer from Jamaica Usain Bolt; swimmers from the USA Michael Phelps and Katie Ledecky and gymnast Simone Biles, were the great figures and stars of the quadrennial sports meet, winning a total of 16 medals.
